Why does it cost more credits to send an SMS to a Swiss Salt or Sunrise number than to a Swisscom number? [Q1053]
In Switzerland, the actual network operator of the recipient number is checked before an SMS is sent. SMS to numbers registered with Salt, Sunrise or an associated mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) are charged at 1.75 credits, while SMS to Swisscom numbers are charged at 1 credit. This reflects the different termination fees charged by each operator. The current Swiss rate details are published on the Switzerland networks page.
